Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do you tear fabric instead of cutting it?
We tear certain fabrics to ensure a perfectly straight edge along the grain. Unlike cutting, which can wander if the fabric isn’t perfectly square, tearing follows the natural weave – giving you precision and accuracy for your project. It’s a trusted technique in the fabric world, not a mistake.
  • Do you pre-wash your fabrics?
No, we typically don’t pre-wash our fabrics before sale unless otherwise noted. If you're making garments, quilts, or anything that might shrink with washing, we recommend pre-washing at home before cutting.
  • What’s your return policy on cut fabric?
All cut fabric sales are final. Once fabric is measured and cut, it’s custom to you and can’t be resold. If you’re unsure how much to order, we’re happy to help you plan ahead.
  • Do you offer sewing lessons?
Yes! We offer both private and group sewing lessons for all skill levels – from complete beginners to experienced sewists looking to brush up. Gift cards are available too – perfect for giving the gift of creativity.
  • Can I bring in my sewing machine for repairs?
Absolutely. We offer machine repair services, but we do recommend calling ahead to check availability or book a drop-off time. We want to make sure your machine gets the TLC it deserves.
